Every day is "Take your son and daughter to work day" at Skylarks

As I reflect on ‘Take your sons and daughters to work day,’ I can't help but feel that for me, every day symbolises this.

 

As Managing Director of Skylarks Charity, we provide essential support, activities, and therapies for children with disabilities and additional needs, as well as their families. My own journey as a parent of a child with additional needs has inspired me to make a difference in the lives of others facing a similar experience.

 

Founded over a decade ago by Anne-Marie Asgari and a group of dedicated parent volunteers, Skylarks creates inclusivity and belonging. It's a place where every child is celebrated for their unique abilities, and every family finds understanding. 

Most recently, we have developed the ‘Spread Your Wings’ programme, which is targeted support for students in years 8 to 10. The programme aims to empower young people with additional needs or disabilities as they transition to employment or higher education. So far, generous donations and support have made it possible for schools to access this programme free of charge for the first 12 months.
