Something special is coming to Hounslow this summer!

Skylarks Charity opens new space in Hounslow

We’re thrilled to introduce Skylarks Hounslow, our newest space created for families of children with additional needs at Inwood Road Park.

We were absolutely thrilled to open the doors to our brand-new space in Inwood Park on Thursday 17th July and welcome the wonderful Hounslow community! Our Skylarks ambassador, the actor Fiona Button, officially cut the green ribbon celebrating this exciting new chapter with us. We were delighted to receive support from local councillors, our corporate partners McDermott International and Vanderlande, local charity partners, HSBC Hounslow, Brentford FC's mascot Buzz, Brentford FC Ambassador Marcus Gayle, local musician and Channel 4's The Piano finalist Michael Howell, a mentor on our Spread Your Wings programme and Tesco Twickenham.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible funders Hounslow Thriving Communities Fund, Inspire Hounslow, The Childhood Trust, The Victoria Foundation and Sky. And a special shoutout to Architecture: WK for designing such a beautiful and inclusive space, and to Woodland Commercial Ltd for bringing that vision to life with skill and care.

Since 2006, Skylarks Charity has been supporting children and young people with disabilities or additional needs – and their families. Over the years, hundreds of families have found a home with Skylarks. Now, we’re bringing that same trusted support to Hounslow.

Families in Hounslow have told us they need support that feels closer to home. We’ve listened. Skylarks is growing with the community, offering free and inclusive services that make a real difference where they’re needed most.

This new space is all about community, warm and accessible, designed to make a real difference for families and children with additional needs offering fun, inclusive activities, therapies and support sessions for all ages.

At Skylarks Hounslow, families can look forward to:

  • Fun, inclusive activities for all ages
  • Expert led therapies and support sessions
  • Friendly advice and guidance when you need it most
  • Workshops to build confidence and life skills
  • All delivered in a fully accessible, welcoming environment, free of charge!

This is more than just a new location, it’s a warm, welcoming space where families can connect, feel part of a community, and thrive together.

Skylarks Hounslow will be a brand-new community space for children with additional needs and their families. This welcoming space offers a wide range of services and activities, including therapies such as music therapy, play sessions, stress-free haircuts, advice and support services, and SEND education advice.

Here’s a peek at what you’ll find:

with state-of-the-art technologies
  • Sky Up tech hub for exploring digital and life skills
  • Play areas for children and their siblings
  • Free information, advice & therapies

Aaron Guiver, MD of Skylarks, shared “Skylarks is working hard to extend our services to more families by opening our Hounslow site in summer 2025.

“We are delighted to be in a position to open a base in Hounslow and engage with more families. With an ever-increasing demand for services and no statutory funding, we are grateful for the support of our partners, sponsors, volunteers, and fundraisers who are helping to turn this exciting project into reality.”

Families are welcome to come to the Twickenham or Hounslow centres from wherever they travel, and a range of services are also offered online.

Skylarks Hounslow will open its doors fully at the end of September, but in the meantime we are offering a couple of activities there over the summer holidays. Please register with us to receive our newsletter and to be able to book these activities, which are free of charge and open to families from any borough whose children and young people have any additional needs.

Despite enormous funding challenges and rising community needs, Skylarks is growing.

Last year, we delivered over 9,000 free activity sessions, and our online provision also offers support, information, and advice, as well as a peer support network nationwide.

With no statutory funding stream, Skylarks welcomes donations, fundraising champions, pro-bono sponsors and volunteers.

Dee Carswell, Skylarks Head of Partnerships & Fundraising, said Thank you to our incredible fundraisers for your continued support of this exciting and evolving project. Your efforts are helping shape a fantastic new offer for families in Hounslow, and we’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey.”

We can’t wait to welcome you soon!
