Autism in girls and women: challenges to recognition and diagnosis - an ONLINE talk by Dr Rachel Moseley
In this talk, Dr Rachel Moseley will focus in on the way autism presents in autistic girls, women, and people assigned female at birth (AFAB), and the challenges that can pose to getting diagnosed.
How does autism present differently in girls and children assigned female at birth, and why are these individuals less likely to be diagnosed as autistic in childhood?
What kinds of challenges are particular to autistic girls, women and AFAB people, across their lifespans?
What kinds of things can help to bear in mind as you approach or consider a diagnosis?
Dr Moseley will draw on research and lived experience as a late-diagnosed autistic person.
