Getting Paid & Spending It - a Money Charity Workshop for 11 - 18 year olds
As part of our offering for our young people with additional needs and disabilities, Spread Your Wings, we are delighted to offer sessions on money and finance for young people with additional needs. These will be delivered online by The Money Charity.
They are mainstream courses, but the content will be delivered more slowly and with ideas reinforced through repetition and discussion. Young people can join in as much as they wish, but there is no pressure to so they can just observe if they wish (although we ask them to keep cameras on for safeguarding purposes).
This session will take place ONLINE via ZOOM on Wednesday 26th November 5pm - 6pm
Getting Paid & Spending It
Ever wondered where your money really goes? In this fun and interactive workshop, young people get to explore what’s really on their payslip, find out how taxes and National Insurance help fund the world around us, and pick up practical tips for making their money go further. Whether it’s planning for your first job or learning how to budget like a pro, this session builds confidence and skills to help you make the most of every pound!
OTHER NOTES ON THE ONLINE COURSE:
- Your young person will need a quiet space for the sessions and a computer/laptop/iPad with internet connection so that they can use zoom
- The sessions will be interactive so they will need to be seen (using the computer camera/webcam) and heard (using the computer microphone or headset)
- It's important the young people are relaxed and comfortable; please do help them get set up for the first session and be on hand for any technical difficulties
- We ask parents to stay nearby as necessary
