Richmond National Autistic Society (NAS) hosts regular online get togethers for parents of children with autism or on the social communication pathway via Zoom.
Thursday 24th June, 8:00 – 9:30pm. COFFEE EVENING FOR NEWLY DIAGNOSED FAMILIES
For parents and carers of newly diagnosed children and young people or those who are on the pathway to a diagnosis of a social communication condition and/or autism. This would include those who may have been diagnosed a year ago but have found many of the services have been on-hold or difficult to access due to the pandemic. Parents who have also moved to the area recently are also very welcome.
NAS Richmond have also set up a small support group for parents of autistic adults living away from the family home
For parents and carers of adults (over 18 years) with autism who have moved out of the family home, not including those in residential colleges who come home at weekends and/or holidays. For more information, please contact NAS Richmond by email: email@example.com
All Richmond NAS meetings are an open forum and there will be parent members of the National Autistic Society Richmond present to listen to any concerns you have around supporting children and young adults with autism spectrum conditions. As with the coffee mornings we usually run, NAS Richmond will be there to ensure people feel included and are able to support one another. All are welcome wherever you live.
The times of the event are from 8pm to 9.30pm. Please do not worry if you are late - you can join at any time.
The Zoom link will be sent to you in advance, usually the day before. If you do not receive it, please check your junk folder.
This session is aimed at adults and we encourage you to find a quiet place where you won’t be overheard or disturbed. However we understand that you have your children at home with you and that this may not always be possible. Please be aware of the safety of your children during our live sessions.
While you are taking part in a Skylarks live online session, you are responsible for your child/ren's safety. Please make sure your child/ren are fully dressed in case they walk into the room.
You must not record, photograph or video any Skylarks live online sessions
You must not share any Zoom passwords.
If you are concerned about any other child or parent who is part of the group, please contact a member of Skylarks staff.
