Covid-19 - Important Notice: Skylarks has suspended all face-to-face sessions in order to protect our children and families during the Coronavirus outbreak. However we are still here for our families. We are running many of our activities live online using Zoom. We are producing new exciting video content to share with families for use at home. We are also available to respond to queries by telephone, FaceTime or email. You can read more about what is happening at Skylarks currently here: Online Services and Activities

"Time to share" - Support group for parents of primary-school-age children with any additional needs

During the closure for Coronavirus, we are moving our support groups online, using Zoom.

Our Wednesday evening support group, "Time to Share" is for parents of children with any additional needs who are between the ages of 5 and 11.

This support group is hosted and facilitated by Gabi, who is a Skylarks employee and parent of a child with a disability.

This is an open forum and any topics can be discussed. Gabi will guide the session, allowing parents time to talk and opportunities to listen. Parents will have similar concerns, although they will be specific to having a child with additional needs/disability, such as how to keep children occupied, how to encourage school work, behaviour issues, screen time, mental health of parents, exercise and generally helping each other not to feel alone.

Parents will need to have a quiet place that they can go to talk confidentially. They will need to be able to use Zoom (guidance will be given) and they need to be willing to participate, while also listening to their peers. They need to try to attend these sessions regularly, in order to build up an online support network.

After half term, from Wednesday 3rd June, we are happy for 2 or 3 more participants to join the existing group.
