Pedal Power & Purpose: Skylarks Summer Cycle Challenge Raising £65,000!

June 30, 2025
Three Schools, One Mission - And Still Going!
The spirit of community is truly alive as three fantastic Richmond borough schools - Kings CoE Primary, Orleans Primary, and Barnes Primary - took to the roads this summer in support of children with additional needs and their families, and their local schools.
• Orleans Primary School team cycled the iconic route from London to Paris, braving the summer heat and steep climbs with smiles and determination.
• The adventurous team from Barnes Primary School conquered their epic London to Amsterdam ride, showing true grit and community spirit.
• King’s CoE Primary School will close out the last of these three incredible rides, this weekend with their challenge of cycling from Kew to Paris.
Each ride made possible through the support of dedicated parents and volunteers, all united by the shared belief that every child deserves a chance to thrive.
1,000 Miles, One Trustee, One Big Heart!
Topping off this summer of two-wheeled triumph was Mitch, a Skylarks trustee, who is completing all three rides, cycling over 1,000 miles for Skylarks. Mitch’s Cycling Extravaganza inspired and energised the community, embodying the power of individual passion combined with collective support.
Where the Funds Go
The funds raised will go directly to supporting Skylarks’ inclusive play sessions, therapy programmes, and vital services that make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families. Funds from the three school rides also supports the participating schools in their own community initiatives — a true win-win powered by collaboration.
