Tuesday 13th March,
We are delighted to welcome Jenifer Norris who runs the Surrey Explorers, along with Aldona from Hounslow who is a trustee of PPUK.
Jenny is coming to talk to us and our children at Me too & Co on Tuesday 13th March from 2.30 to 5pm.
Surrey Explorers is an organisation which runs Talks and Workshops on interesting subjects for children who are curious, motivated and eager to learn beyond the school curriculum and to explore new interests.
Jenny will give us an idea of the typical workshops they offer and more information about who they are aimed at and what to expect.
Their workshops and talks take place on a couple of Sunday mornings per month from 10.30 – 12.30 in Epsom. Open to all 7 - 13 year olds (rough age guide, as they are happy to welcome older children) and cost £10 per child on the door, £2 discount for PPUK members. Parents are welcome to stay. Their sessions are held at Kingswood House School, 56 West Hill, Epsom KT19 8LG. 10 mins walk from Epsom station.
Typical workshops include subjects such as:
Genes and proteins
A cure for scurvy
Reporting the news
The history of the English language
How to design a satellite
Photography – what you didn’t know your camera can do
Surrey Explorers is the London branch of Potential Plus UK (PPUK), a charity whose aim is to enable children of all ages with high learning potential to grow in confidence, thrive and achieve social, emotional and academic fulfilment.
