Dive into a Summer of Water at the London Museum of Water & Steam! A fun museum offering opportunities for play, creating, exploration and water fun! 

A historic water pumping station based in Brentford, we’re just a stone’s throw away from Kew Gardens, Chiswick and Richmond! Explore our remarkable collection of Victorian steam engines, discover the surprising story of London’s public water supply,

Make sure to check out some of our new outside spaces! The Play Garden reopened this year with lots of updated toys and activities. The Economiser will be open just in time for the summer. This is a room right off of the Splash Zone that will provide some much needed shade, and fun activities for all ages!

Getting Here
By Train: Kew Bridge (South West Trains from Waterloo via Clapham Junction).
By Tube: Gunnersbury (District Line then 237 or 267 bus) or South Ealing (Piccadilly Line then 65 bus to Kew Bridge).
By Bus: 65 (Ealing to Kingston, 24hour), 237 (Hounslow to White City), 267 (Fulwell to Hammersmith), 110 (Hammersmith to Hounslow via Richmond).
By Car: A limited number of car parking spaces are available. The museum car park will be closed on Brentford FC home match fixture dates and other dates throughout the year for private events.

Visitors who are wheelchair users or who’s mobility is limited: 
Inside the Museum:
A step-free route is available throughout most of the Museum. 
Seating is available throughout the Museum. 
Unfortunately the Great Engine House (containing the 90 and 100″ engines), the beam floors and community exhibition do not have step free access.

Outside the Museum: 
The Museum car park is level and mostly covered in tarmac. However, there are some uneven surfaces. 
Access to the garden is up a sloped path. There are some uneven surfaces and gravelled areas. 
Access to the Splash Zone is via ramp at the external door near the Boulton and Watt. There are some uneven surfaces and gravelled areas.
Disabled parking can be reserved by emailing museum@waterandsteam.org.uk. Please note, we may not be able to reserve parking when the car park is closed or privately hired. 

Visitors who are blind or partially sighted:
Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the Museum.
There are no barriers to the 100inch Engine, enabling visitors to get close and feel the engine. Please note, all the other engines are barriered off for safety and operational reasons.

Toilets
There is an accessible toilet next to the shop and café. 
Male and female toilets are available in the Steam Hall. 
We have baby changing facilities and potty training seats available in all our toilets. 



Waiting List:
If our sessions are fully booked, please put your child's name on the waiting list for the dates you are available and we will contact you if a space becomes available. Sometimes cancellations can happen at the last minute due to illness etc so please also check the website for last minute availability.
