Salopian Garden, Isleworth
Thursday 28th September, 2.30 to 4pm
We have been invited to bring a small group of children to do some gardening is this lovely enclosed secret hideaway!
This event is open to children with additional needs and their siblings who are either pre-school or being home educated. We are sorry that the timings of this event mean that it is not suitable for children who are at school, but we will organise another visit here in the spring!
The Salopian Garden is a community garden owned by the National Trust and leased to Cultivate London who have renovated it and turned it into a little oasis, with fruit trees, a herb garden, bee hives, a polytunnel with indoor seating and a wood fired cob oven, all within a walled enclosed garden.
Our children will be helping to pick the autumn produce and plant some seeds for over-wintering. So be prepared to dig in and roll up your sleeves for some active involvement!
There are also home-grown vegetables and home-made produce to buy from their little stall.
How to get there:
The Salopian Gardens, Cultivate London
689 London Road, Isleworth, TW7 4ES
Bus Stop: Star Road (117, 235, 237, E8, H37, N9)
Tube: Hounslow East
There is very little on-site parking, so please come by bus if you can, but if you need a parking space, please request this by email to email@example.com
For more information, please see their website and Facebook page:
Need to know:
Me too & Co will be providing 2 members of staff but your children will remain your responsibility while in the garden, so if you think you need an extra pair of hands, please try to bring a partner/friend/support worker.
Please wear sensible shoes or wellies and have raincoats with you.
There is a toilet which is fairly basic but no disabled toilet or changing facilities. All the paths are flat and wheelchair accessible and they also have raised vegetable beds.
We are suggesting a donation to Cultivate London of £4 per family in cash on the day.
