SYW – Virtual Money Workshops – The Money Charity – Online Workshops for Young People (Ages 12–25)
Skylarks is delighted to be working with The Money Charity to offer a fun and interactive virtual money workshop for young people at KS3 level.
This one-hour session will help young people develop their understanding of money and build practical financial skills and confidence that they can use in everyday life.
As part of our Spread Your Wings offer for young people with additional needs, these 60 min Financial Education Money Workshops are aimed at young people ages 12-25, who want to start building their financial independence for the future.
These workshops are suited to young people;
- who are thinking about paid employment in the future
- who have or are working towards a GCSE/Functional Skills Maths (Level 1 or 2)

Workshop 1 – KS3 Virtual Money Workshop
Date: Tuesday 15th September 2026
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Aims:
- Understand the basics of managing money
- Recognise the difference between needs and wants
- Understand spending and saving
- Develop confidence in making everyday money decisions
Workshop 2 – KS4 Virtual Money Workshop
Date: Tuesday 6th October 2026
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Aims:
- Develop an understanding of budgeting and managing money
- Understand different ways to pay and use banking services
- Explore spending, saving and borrowing
- Build confidence in making informed financial decisions
Workshop 3 – Post-16 Money Essentials
Date: Tuesday 24th November 2026
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Ages: 16–25
Aims:
- Understand how to manage money independently
- Develop practical budgeting skills
- Understand payslips, Tax and National Insurance
- Explore banking, saving, borrowing and credit
- Build confidence in making financial decisions for adult life
