Outdoor Play sessions at Marble Hill

Run by Skylarks staff and volunteers
We are pleased to be able to offer another place where you can bring your children play in some fresh air in a stress-free environment in the holidays.

We are delighted English Heritage have given us use of their dog free, fenced garden near the cafe area at Marble Hill Park on two dates in the Summer Holidays

Susie's Sensory Story

At each session there will be Susie’s Sensory Story, an inclusive multi-sensory experience, so there will be different textures, smells, sounds, sights - something for everyone. Sensory Stories are used to aid communication and sharing, boost attention and focus, as well as engaging the senses by creating an enjoyable sensory adventure. The story will be short, but the aim is to ensure everyone is included and most importantly has fun.

There is also the opportunity to get SEND Education advice while you are at the session

Dates and Times - 2 sessions per day

Thursday 14th August 11am - 12.30pm
Tuesday 26th August 1.15pm - 2.45pm

Thursday 14th August 11am - 12.30pm
Tuesday 26th August 1.15pm - 2.45pm

Some Skylarks staff and usually a volunteer or two will be there. This is a stay and play session, so parents are expected to stay. We will have volunteers present to play with your children but you are still responsible for your children.

We will provide some toys and activities. These will be low-key ground-based activities so that we don’t damage plants – no ball games unfortunately. If you book a reasonable time in advance, this will allow us to bring suitable toys and plan our activities accordingly. We plan to have puzzles, plastic baby toys, arts and crafts, sensory toys etc, but please let us know if there is one of our toys that your child particularly likes and we will do our best to bring it with us.

The session will take place in most weathers, unless it is very heavy rain. Please dress yourself and your children appropriately and bring sun cream, umbrellas or wellies, depending on the weather. *There is no inside space or cover*

You are welcome to bring a picnic or other food. No nuts or sesame as usual please.

You are welcome to bring a picnic rug or a fold-up chair for your own use.

You may want to bring some toys or games for your own use.

We are positioned very close to the Cafe where there are public toilets  There is a wheelchair accessible toilet.

Getting there:

Marble Hill Park is just round the corner from our usual venue. Go in the main gate with the big white stately home in front of you. Follow the path round to the left to the car park. From there walk over across the main lawn to the right of the car park, in front of the big house. You will find us across the other side of the stately home, near the cafe. Please note this is a different venue to the kitchen garden that we used previously. Please also note that this is NOT the Marble Hill Adventure Playground or One O'Clock Club and it is also NOT the playground down near the river. If you can't find us, please phone us on 07946 646 033.

There is a pay and display car park at Marble Hill Park (currently £2.50 for up to 2 hours and £3.50 for up to 3 hours or free to English Heritage members. The car park is open till dusk. For sat nav users, the postcode for the car park is TW1 2NL.

There is also on street parking in nearby with a Richmond parking voucher or RingGo.

Bus numbers 33, 490, H22, R70 and R68 stop nearby and bus number H37 stops just round the corner at a stop called Poplar Court.
