Friday - Stay, Play and Support Session

Run by Skylarks staff and volunteers
Our Stay, Play and Support sessions on Friday mornings are aimed at families who have pre-school children with additional needs. Come and be part of the Skylarks community!

Families who have older children who are home-educated or not attending school for other reasons (such as school refusal or school-based anxiety) are also very welcome. Please let us know if you are bringing an older child so that we can prepare toys and activities for them

The Session runs from 10am - 12pm in the Spring Room at the back of St Stephen's Church (on the same site as The Crossway Centre, just along the path)

While your children are playing in the Spring Room playroom , you can be in the same room talking to a member of Skylarks staff or an outside expert for support, information and advice. Depending on the size of your family, we may also be able to have a volunteer in the room to play with your children.

Please do not bring your child if they are off school because they are ill. We can not allow anyone who is feeling unwell or sick into our sessions.

What do I need to do before I come?

  • Please read our new guidelines carefully - https://www.skylarks.charity/page/member-guidelines
  • Please book online. Families must book in advance as numbers are limited, so you must book to use the playroom. You need to book EACH child in, so that we know numbers to expect. If you have not booked, you will unfortunately not be able to attend

What will sessions at the Crossway Centre look like?

A staff member or volunteer can make you a cup of tea or coffee.  Please keep all hot drinks out of the reach of children.

if you bring your own snacks, please eat them outside of the play room and but please do not share them or t bring anything containing nuts or sesame. Please do not leave water bottles where they might be used by others. Please supervise your children when eating to make sure they don’t leave food lying around and please clean up any spillages or leftovers.

If your child has a toileting accident, we ask you to clean up. We will provide gloves and cleaning materials. Please have a spare set of clothes with you.

Donations can be made by contactless card reader, not in cash.

Thank you for helping to make Skylarks a safe place for everyone
