Sports sessions with RISE at Marble Hill tennis courts

Run by RISE sports
RISE and Skylarks multi sports sessions

Tuesday 21st December

We are pleased to be able to offer some multi-sports sessions in the holidays in partnership with RISE (Richmond Inclusive Sports and Exercise).

These are for children aged 8 to 14 with any additional needs or disabilities. Priority will be given to children with disabilities but there may be space for siblings too. Please express an interest for brothers and sisters and we will let you know nearer the time if they can join in.

There will be 2 sessions on the day:

10.00 - 11.00       Multi sports session 1
11.15 - 12.15       Multi sports session 2

Please only book one session.

These sessions offer a fun introduction to the basics of a variety of sports, including basketball, cricket, hockey and tennis, all adapted to suit every ability. Sessions are led by a Disability Sports Coach (DSC) and develop fundamental movement skills; running, hopping, throwing, catching and jumping.

These are run by sports staff employed by RISE. There will be a member of our staff present. They will be there to help and supervise social distancing. Parents are however responsible for their children at all times and are expected to stay nearby.

These will take place in Marble Hill Park, in the tennis courts.

The sessions will take place in most weathers,  unless it is very heavy rain. Please make sure your children are appropriately dressed for all weathers. Please bring sun cream or raincoat, depending on the weather. There is no inside space or cover apart from some trees.

You are welcome to bring a picnic rug or a fold-up chair for your own use or a coffee to drink while sitting on a park bench.

There are public toilets in the gardens Marble Hill House.

There is wheelchair access to the tennis courts, as the ground is flat but it may involve going across grass

You are welcome to bring a picnic or other food. No nuts or sesame as usual please.
