All Aboard Club at All Hallows in Twickenham

Run by All Aboard Club

Wednesday 7th August 2024

and

Wednesday 28th August

Session One: 10am - 11.15am and

Session Two: 11.30am - 12.45pm

We are delighted that Richard from All Aboard Club (formerly known as the Engine Shed) brings his trains to some of our special sessions!

All Aboard Club is a special interest group for children and young people with autism who like trains. They can play, talk and enjoy their interest in a welcoming, safe and relaxing environment. Children can both play with existing sets or build their own layout.

They have loads of Brio, Ertl and Tomy layouts to play with.

We suggest a minimum age of 4 years for this event, so that all children can enjoy this activity fully.

The venue is:

All Hallows Church
Erncroft Way
Twickenham
TW1 1DA

If the sessions are full, you can put your name n the waiting list here:

Travelling by Car to All Hallows
This church hall is off Whitton Road, which leads from Twickenham station to the A316.

There is plenty of free on-site parking. Access to the church hall’s car park which is at the end of Erncroft Way. Please do not park in Erncroft Way and please do not pull into the church’s own car park which is off the A316, as this is for weddings and funerals only!

Travelling by train:
All Hallows is 10 minutes walk from Twickenham railway station. From Twickenham station you can also get the 281 bus towards Hounslow and get off near the off-licence.

Travelling by bus:
The 281 (Hounslow to Kingston) stops on the Whitton Road near the end of Erncroft Way, near an off licence wine shop called Riccardo's. This is about a two minute walk from All Hallows.

Please note, as with all Skylarks activities, anyone is welcome! Children with autism or any other additional needs, their siblings and parents, from any borough. Trains will be both on the floor and on table tops.

This activity is free of charge but donations are appreciated.

If you are new to Skylarks and are not already registered with us, you will need to register with us in order to book this event. Registration is free of charge. You can do this now at www.skylarks.charity/register

Parents must stay on-site to supervise their children. There will be one or two members of staff from All Aboard Club and one or two members of staff/volunteers from Skylarks present, but parents are still responsible for their children.

One parent who attended previously said:  "I was having a terrible day/week with my son, I had to carry him from the car park to the centre and on arrival he was really upset and aggressive. I took him in and he calmed down and played with the trains non stop for well over and hour without coming to me, he was so happy. It was the only rest I had for days. Thank you so much for arranging this as we have travelled far in the past to access".
