Hairdressing for children at the Crossway Centre

Run by Lorraine

Our hairdresser Lorraine visits us regularly to cut the hair of children with additional needs and disabilities.

To keep this activity as safe as possible due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Lorraine aims to cut children's hair outdoors if possible, or in the open doorway if it is raining) at the Crossway Centre.

We have to prioritise children with additional needs over their brothers and sisters. Please only book your child with additional needs in for a hair cut. If there is time we may be able to cut their siblings' hair too, but we cannot guarantee this.

Lorraine will be cutting hair on the following dates:

3rd May
7th June
5th July

in the following time slots:
Between 2.30pm and 5.30pm

She will also be with us on the following Friday mornings:

13th May - CANCELLED
20th May
24th June
15th July

in the following time slots:

Between 9.30am and 12.30pm

Hairdressing: occasional Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings

Parents tell us Lorraine is patient and kind and usually manages to cut the hair of even the most unwilling child. So save yourselves the stress of going to a mainstream barbers or hairdressers and come to a place where your child’s needs will be understood.

We ask for a minimum £6 donation per haircut, but if you are used to paying more than this, please give what you feel is appropriate. You can donate at the front desk in cash on the day.

We offer haircuts on occasional Friday mornings too. This session is aimed at pre-school children and children who are not in formal education.
